who we are

Taproot Earth is a frontline-led organization rooted in the lived realities, resistance, and leadership of communities most impacted by climate harm. Our work grows from community responses to Hurricane Katrina, the 2010 BP Oil Disaster, and Hurricane Ida, and from generations of Black and Indigenous organizing across the Gulf South and the Global South.

Our team, known as the Krewe, works alongside a community of frontline leaders, organizers, artists, and movement builders toward a shared Liberation Horizon grounded in accountability, repair, and collective abundance. Together, we strengthen relationships, practice shared governance, and advance Global Climate Reparations in action. We invite you to move with us.
