The fifth annual Black Climate Leadership Summit is part of the Queen City Climate Convergence, a two-day convergence proudly co-hosted by Taproot Noire and Sol Nation. Day one, the Black Climate Leadership Summit, empowers Black frontline climate organizers to reclaim their narratives, leadership, and joy in the climate movement. Day two, Sol Summit, explores how we can build shared power, community-led solutions, and a liberated climate future together.

While much of Climate Week NYC centers corporate strategies, this coming together centers non-extractive solutions and possibilities growing from the frontlines. Through public events and invitation-only gatherings across New York, organizations are aligning their efforts to deepen learning, build connections, and grow the coordinated movement power needed to advance climate justice. Hosted by Taproot Earth, the Just Transition Lawyering Network (JTLN), the Global Justice Clinic at NYU School of Law and the Bernstein Institute for Human Rights at NYU School of Law, this gathering brings movements, advocates, legal practitioners, and climate finance perspectives into conversation around what transformative approaches to justice, sovereignty, and repair can look like in practice.

During Climate Week NYC, Taproot Earth will convene leaders across technology, philanthropy, global moral leadership, and frontline movements to explore how emerging AI and tech wealth could resource Global Climate Reparations. The dialogue will examine community-governed approaches to moving capital and introduce the Reef Fund as an emerging model for preserving frontline leadership.

Gulf South to Appalachia (GS2A) is a regional formation of frontline leaders across 16 states and one colonized territory building political power, shared strategy, and community-led climate solutions rooted in the interconnected histories, lands, and waters of the Gulf South and Appalachia. Residents of the region are invited to a monthly regional call the first Wednesday of each month. Consider it a space to connect, align, and stay rooted in shared challenges and strategy.
